Head of R&D for a precision fermentation startup in India

Job Description

To my network in India – I am advising a startup based in Bangalore, India.  EarthKind Foods is a biotech startup developing precision-fermented “cultured oils” from agricultural residue, addressing India’s health crisis, oil import dependency, and climate challenges.

Founding team is hiring for a Head of R&D role. The person is expected to lead R&D, product development and should have the below. For further details, please see the JD.

Required Qualifications:
● Ph.D. in Microbiology, Bioprocess Engineering, Biotechnology, or any related fields.
● 10+ years of industry experience in designing, managing, and leading R&D programs in biotech
or food technology.
● Proven track record in fermentation process development and scale-up.
● Strong background in either microbiology, biochemistry, and bioprocess engineering.
● Experience in managing and developing research teams.
● Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
● Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the food and biotechnology industries.
● Experience in startup environments and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
