Gert Desmet and Deirdre Cabooter are reopening the vacancy for a highly motivated PhD candidate who is interested in exploring the intricate details of the band broadening of oligonucleotides in liquid chromatography. This is a joint PhD project between KU Leuven and Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

A good knowledge of and hands-on experience with HPLC are an absolute must, while an interest in the fundamentals of chromatography is required (you will be asked to explain the van Deemter equation during the interview!). As the project also involves an amount of modeling, the candidate should have good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
