Job Description

The Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein – Imperial is offering three fully funded PhDs as part of the first Bezos Centre PhD cohort on Alternative Proteins (2025 entry).

As alternative proteins — from plant-based to cultivated and fermentation-based — continue to evolve, these interdisciplinary projects explore how we can ensure this transition benefits both people and planet.

🗺️ PhD in Sustainable Protein Futures: Infrastructure, Location, and Life Cycle Approaches with the Centre for Environmental Policy at Imperial College London

🌿  PhD in Precision Fermentation (Sustainable C1-feedstocks) at the Department of Bioengineering

🧠 PhD in Consumer Acceptance and Marketing Strategies (Alternative Proteins) with the Centre for Health Economics & Policy Innovation at the Imperial Business School

These projects contribute directly to building a resilient, equitable, and sustainable food system — and get the chance to be part of a vibrant global research community with over 100+ researchers shaping the future of food.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to apply formally through ‘My Imperial’ and to provide referees at that stage. These opportunities are fully funded for UK home students.
