🔍 Join the Chen Lab at Washington University in St. Louis to translate neuroscience discoveries into real‐world health solutions using ultrasound. We seek exceptional Postdoctoral Research Associates and Staff Scientists to push scientific boundaries and drive clinical impact. Our lab is jointly housed in the WashU Biomedical Engineering and the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis Neurosurgery Department.

✨What You Will Be Doing
– Explore the biological effects of ultrasound on the brain at the molecular and cellular levels.
– Advance ultrasound-based techniques for treating nervous system disorders. These techniques include neuromodulation, sonobiopsy, sonogenetics, and other interventions.
– Design, prototype, and validate novel ultrasound devices for noninvasive brain interventions and imaging.
– Lead preclinical studies and help establish protocols for early-phase human applications, advancing promising technologies toward clinical use.

💡 What We’re Looking For
– Candidates with a creative and open mindset who are ready to challenge conventional thinking and take bold research risks.
– Ideal candidates will thrive in a multidisciplinary team and possess a PhD in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
– Experience in neuromodulation, cell mechanics, medical devices, liquid biopsy, or working with mouse or large animal models is beneficial.
– Familiarity with ultrasound technology is a plus, but not required.
