Job Description
The Rowley Lab (www.plateletlab.com) is seeking highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Scientists to join their team within the platelet and thrombo-inflammation group at the University of Utah. The candidates will research how mitochondria, genetics and genomics influence platelet function, bleeding, and clot formation. One project will investigate the mechanisms regulating mitochondrial fission in megakaryocytes, and will use mouse models to determine how mitochondrial fission affects platelet production and function. The other project involves developing and implementing cutting-edge CRISPR/Cas9 approaches in primary human hematopoietic progenitors to evaluate gene functions and the effect of genetic variants in blood cells, including platelets and megakaryocytes.
