Job Title: Program Manager – Funding
Location: Electronic City, Bengaluru
Organization: Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre
Type: Full-time (on Contract)
Reports to: Managing Director
Role Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Manager – Funding & Cohort Programs to lead
and manage startup funding initiatives under national schemes such as Startup India Seed Fund
Scheme (SISFS), DST-NIDHI Seed Support Program, BIRAC Seed Fund, and MEITY
SAMRIDH. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early-stage funding, portfolio
management, cohort execution, and stakeholder coordination within the innovation/startup
ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
Funding Program Management

  • End-to-end support for startup activities, including outreach, evaluation, onboarding,
    mentorship, and access to funding opportunities
  • Manage end-to-end execution of seed funding programs like SISFS / NIDHI-SSP / BIRAC
    / MEITY SAMRIDH.
  • Drive the application, screening, evaluation, and disbursement process in line with
    respective scheme guidelines.
  • Liaise with government agencies, committees, and stakeholders for approvals, compliance,
    and reporting.
  • Track and monitor startup milestones, fund utilization, and performance metrics.
  • Prepare fund utilization reports, quarterly updates, and compliance documentation for all
    funding schemes.
    Cohort & Startup Engagement
  • Design and conduct themed cohort programs to identify, mentor, and support high-
    potential startups for seed funding.
  • Coordinate expert panels, jury evaluations, workshops, and capacity-building activities for
    cohorts.
  • Develop a mentor and evaluator network for selection, training, and monitoring of funded
    startups.
  • Maintain and update a funding pipeline dashboard and MIS for internal and external
    reporting.
    Ecosystem & Stakeholder Management
  • Engage with startup founders, mentors, VCs, angel investors, and public/private funding
    partners to amplify fundraising opportunities.
  • Build partnerships with domain experts, academic institutions, and innovation networks.
  • Represent the Incubation Centre at events, expos, and investor forums to showcase
    portfolio startups.
    Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or related field; MBA or postgraduate
    degree preferred.
  • Minimum 4–6 years of relevant experience in managing government startup funding
    schemes, grants, or venture funding programs.
  • Proven track record of conducting startup cohorts, bootcamps, or acceleration programs.
  • Experience working with incubators, accelerators, government schemes (SISFS / BIRAC
    / DST/ MEITY, etc.), or early-stage investment firms.
    Key Competencies:
  • Deep understanding of startup lifecycle and funding ecosystem in India
  • Strong coordination, analytical, and program management skills
  • Proficient in grant management tools, startup databases (like Startup India, BIRAC
    portals), and reporting systems
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a dynamic environment
    Compensation: As per industry standards and experience
