Job Description

Position: Project Technical Support III in ICMR funded project on using patient derived tumor organoids for drug response profiling with the goal of developing personalized therapy for solid cancers.

Tenure: Purely temporary position. Initial appointment for 6 months. Can be extended till the completion of the project in February 2028, subject to successful annual renewal of the project and candidate’s satisfactory performance.


Eligibility: MSc or MTech in any life sciences with strong experience in mammalian cell culture techniques. Preferably 2-3 yrs extensive experience in cell culture including primary cells/3D culture or drug screening. Other desirable experiences include biobanking of clinical samples, high content screening confocal microscopy.

Emolument: 28,000+ HRA (as admissible) according to ICMR.

F.A.Q.
1. Is this a permanent position or can it be converted to permanent later?

Ans: No, it is a purely temporary position in a project. The tenure co-terminates with the project.

2. Can this position be converted to PhD position?

Ans: No.

3. I have microbiology and molecular biology research experience, but no mammalian cell culture experienc. Should I apply?

Ans: 2-3 years of extensive experience in mammalian cell culture is strongly recommended as this is an advanced 3D culture technique based project.

4. I had previously/recently applied to TTCRC for another position. Do I need to apply again?

Ans: Yes, this is a separate position.

5. I had personally contacted the PI earlier with CV. Do I need to apply again?

Ans: Yes.

6. What is the procedure of hiring?

Ans: At the end of application period, the recruitment panel will screen the applications and only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. If you are not shortlisted for interview, no email communication is sent for confirming application. The recruitment panel will select the suitable candidate from the interview. If you have appeared for interview, interview result is communicated to you irrespective of the nature of the result, which usually takes about 2-3 weeks from the date of interview.
